Canal Street Ferry Terminal

In November 2020, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority held a groundbreaking ceremony on the new Canal Street ferry terminal project.

Downtown Transit Hub

The RTA is working towards a future Downtown Transit Center to be located on the site of the former Southern Railway Terminal in the neutral ground of Basin Street at Canal Street. 

An Interim Downtown Transit Hub will be developed to provided significantly enhanced waiting amenities for riders until the final Transit Center is complete.

New Links

New Links was a yearlong Comprehensive Operations Analysis (COA) project that will improve access and travel times with reorganized bus routes and frequencies with a priority on access for populations in greatest need.

RTA has already begun the process of implementing the recommendations. Most changes to service will occur in 2022.
