How to Pay

Learn about all the different types of fares and passes. Paying for your ride is easy on buses, streetcars, and even the ferries with the GoMobile app.

Fares

RTA requires fares on all buses, streetcars, and ferries. If paying with cash, please have exact change ready as we cannot provide change. 

Use the GoMobile app or your Jazzy Pass for touch-free payment. 


Fares by RTA Service

One-way standard fares are $1.25. Jazzy Passes (good for multi-trip rides) are also available from the GoMobile app, ticket machines, online store or from an RTA retail vendor. 1-Day Jazzy Passes start at just $3.00 and offer unlimited rides. Youth Jazzy Passes start at $1.00. Senior/Disabled Jazzy Passes start at 80 cents.

For those disabled riders who do not have the mobility to access standard RTA buses and streetcars, RTA offers a shared-ride, curb-to-curb paratransit service. A one-way fare on this service costs $2.00. For more information, please visit the Paratransit page. Riders with the RTA ADA-certification ID may ride the streetcar, bus and ferry free of charge.  


Discounted Fares

Riders 65+ can qualify for a reduced rate by showing the driver a valid ID or passport.

Riders with a disability and Medicare cardholders can qualify for a reduced rate. Before being allowed to pay this reduced fare or get free transfers, they first must apply with the RTA to receive a special ID card, be sure to bring proof of age (65+), or proof of a qualifying condition or Medicare card. When boarding, show this card to the bus or streetcar driver to pay the discounted fare.
