Temporary Detour Announced for RTA Streetcar and Bus Lines Due to Utility Work

  • July 9th, 2025

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is notifying riders of a temporary detour affecting the #46 Rampart–Loyola Streetcar and bus routes #8 St. Claude–Arabi and #55 Elysian Fields. This change is due to ongoing utility work being conducted by CNG Pipelines at the intersection of N. Rampart Street and Kerlerec Street.

Starting this week through August 1, 2025, crews will be removing a light pole to facilitate a mainline sewer repair. This activity requires a closure that impacts normal service along these lines.

Detours are in place and signs will be posted in the affected areas. Riders are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

For route updates, detour maps, and real-time service alerts, please visit: norta.com/rampart-work.
