Holiday Service

RTA runs reduced service on holidays. Check your specific route schedule for a given holiday to see how the service will change.

The Algiers Point-Canal Street ferry and Chalmette ferry operate on their normal, daily schedules on holidays. For some events on the Mississippi River, such as a fireworks show, the Algiers Point-Canal Street ferry may cease operation during the event. Visit Service Alerts to see ferry alerts.

All lines will run operate on the modified service level described above with the exception of the following lines:

  • 106 - Aurora (On a Saturday service level day, a regular weekday level service will be observed. On a Sunday service level day, there will be no service.)
  • 108 - Algiers Local (On a Sunday service level day, there will be no service.)
