New Links

New Links was a yearlong Comprehensive Operations Analysis (COA) project, led by the New Orleans Regional Planning Commission (RPC), to study public transportation operations in Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Bernard Parishes and develop recommendations for a redesigned bus and streetcar network that better connects residents to jobs, education and other services within existing budgets. The project is a collaborative effort between the Regional Transit Authority (RTA), Jefferson Transit (JeT) and St. Bernard Urban Rapid Transit (SBURT). The resulting recommendations will improve access and travel times with reorganized bus routes and frequencies with a priority on access for populations in greatest need.

RTA has already begun the process of implementing the recommendations. Prior to changing routes, RTA must first complete a federally-required Title VI report to ensure compliance. Most changes to service will occur in 2022.
